I dont think the economy need fixing. I am a frequent casual player and I am still having trouble getting items I would like, like black dye, 15K armor, Nice weapons. the truth is that with loot scaling gold drops went down, meaning less disposable income. Gold drops went up increase in supply. Naturally any economist would tell you that in a low demand high supply market (which is what ANET has created) prices go down. But that doesn't make really worth less, with a correction for inflation. It is very possible that ecto going for 5K is equal in today GW gold to the 10K it was a few months back.

Quite complaining about the economy for doing things that economies do. They change and are driven by the ability to bye things and the amount of things for sale. Even if ANET wanted to "fix" this economy it would be months before the exorbanate 100K + ectos (lockpicks) came back around and people would be complaining that they can't afford anything and everything in this game sucks.

Personally, black is ugly. I like purple and red.

Heh Superior Vigor. Its 9 more health than Major vigor.
You gotta be really bad in math to see which vigor rune is the best value.

Oh you mean like the Crystalline? Its rare. Super expensive. And ugly to boot.

People want it cause its rare. Thats your guilty party right there. They drive up prices. They make those shitty items look cool cause of their high prices.

Bots are guilty of patronizing the idiot players who think that owning rare items makes you cool, so they are willing to spend real money on it.

Now. If no one BOUGHT this shit at this high cost, sellers would be forced to lower prices, because the supply increases daily.
I agree with everything u just said and +1 respect for liking purple i love my purple armour

Your statement is true only because you said "if nobody cared", implying no one is buying it and people are only depositing it to the trader. If, however, black was purchased as often as any other color, which I believe it is, it would clearly show a high price. Why? Because it has a low drop rate. White does too. Anet basically set these prices by the drop rate. That is an undeniable fact.

Want proof? Go dye-farming in pre-searing for a couple of weeks. Count how many of each dye you have. I guarantee you will have far more of each color except for black and white. That's all there is to it.

I'm not going to say I hate black, but I don't prefer it over any other color. I'm non-discriminatory, if it looks good with the outfit I'm wearing, I'll use it. If I can get a closer color to what I want using Red + Yellow + 2x Black, then so be it. I couldn't care less how much it is, except it means I need to make a little more money to afford it, is all.

the weekends i dont think are that big of a problem, however when anet stopped the hold on ecto price at merchant it sucked for a ton of people. I had just acquired a large amount of ecto when they were ~10k at trader, 2 weeks later my gains from trade got cut in half because anet randomly deicded to cut the price of ecto.

Can't say I understand how the economy works. I figured that when all armor was insignia based that Radiant would be in demand, so I bought a bunch. But the price has steadily fallen and now it's less than 30% of what I paid...oh well...
